The surface provides a rigid and plane surface and thus it can accommodate all forms of mattresses including memory foam mattress and a hybrid and a pocket spring mattress. Divan base is of two parts (large sizes) to overcome the trouble of getting it delivered and put together and there is a large connecting bar to hold everything together after assembly.
